Virginia Woolf

A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction. Virginia Woolf
Every secret of a writer's soul, every experience of his life, every quality of his mind is written large in his works. Virginia Woolf
For most of history, Anonymous was a woman. Virginia Woolf
I can only note that the past is beautiful because one never realises an emotion at the time. It expands later, and thus we don't have complete emotions about the present, only about the past. Virginia Woolf
If one could be friendly with women, what a pleasure - the relationship so secret and private compared with relations with men. Why not write about it truthfully? Virginia Woolf
Language is wine upon the lips. Virginia Woolf
Things have dropped from me. I have outlived certain desires; I have lost friends, some by death... others through sheer inability to cross the street. Virginia Woolf
This soul, or life within us, by no means agrees with the life outside us. If one has the courage to ask her what she thinks, she is always saying the very opposite to what other people say. Virginia Woolf
You cannot find peace by avoiding life. Virginia Woolf

Happy New Year

May all of you find your inner self's and peace this new year. May you find and care for what or whom is truly important in your life. Let the bigger picture show what is not worth the energy of worry or despair. As we are only in this life for a short time, taking peace and love in those that welcome our courage and love, is wise. Let people in your life that will recharge you. Wake to see the sun rise. Tell someone, "Thank you." Tell someone, "You're a good friend." Express your appreciation to others. Make today count.

Happy New Year!

Thank you!

A difference

It's a shame not enough people care that they have the abilty and power to make a difference in the world, in their community, family or workplace. Stand up and take a stand. Tell a story. Give an opinion. If you don't no one will know better and then you have only yourself to blame.

Back they come

How is it that a single scent, sound or touch can bring back memories? And how interesting they are memories we typically fight to keep from coming back. How hard do we keep these at bay and how much energy is spent on locking up memories, emotions and that scares or touches us? Must we be the robot that feels nothing so difficult or joyous so we only exist and are merely content? Is that Okay? Would it be wrong to influence others to feel what we want knowing it may only bring pain?
But then there is tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow...

Travels

Looks like travels will be taking us to Chicago, Denver and Florida in the next six months. Looking forward to it, too. In Florida we will most likely see the Animal Kingdom.
Reading many books lately. Light fluff to heavier fluff fiction. My birthday is Sunday and I turn 37 and not unhappy as some people are about birthdays. I enjoy spending the time with the people I care about.
Good night.

Ohio 2

Hi All,
Going to Ohio, again, for another week long training. The community seems a bit on the conservative side. They don't have an active LGBT group, as well. Maybe I can get some reading done and immerse myself in a good book.
112 here. Just a tad on the hot side. Washed the cats so they shed less. Room is all ready for Mom to move-in. She will be here Saturday.
Take care all. What do you all want to discuss?

Ohio

Spending a week in Ohio. I still have not recovered from the three time change. The green is everywhere here and I have scene about a dozen or so deer. Some really lovely homes here, too. Work is going well, but am looking forward to going home. I miss my family.
Hope all are doing well.
Take care.

100

The temperature is getting hotter here. We are looking at many 100+ degree days ahead. Fortunately, I will be heading for Denver to work for a few days where it is a tad cooler. Dry heat is still hot. Much lotion and plenty of water is needed to combat the effects of the hot dry air. While many get to enjoy the pleasures of spring, we in the desert saw merely a blip on the radar that was gone to quickly. Maybe next year.

The search

Hello all,
I took a look at the personals in Planetout.com today. No, not looking for a date, but maybe someone to have coffee with whom shares similar interests. Or maybe I just look to remind me of that part of myself; an outlet maybe. Anyone else with similar experiences? Like reading a GLBT themed book or watching a movie specially themed. An outlet. hmmm.
Good night.

History of the Gay and Lesbian Movement On June 28th, through 30th, 1969, after continual harassment by the New York City police, the patrons of the Stonewall Bar, located on Christopher Street in Greenwich Village, openly defied the unjustified raids and took to the streets in demand of their civil liberties. These riots continued through the weekend, until Monday morning. The gay crowd numbered over two thousand, and in this act of integrity and self affirmation, the modern Lesbian and Gay Rights Movement was born and was soon formally launched into such organizations as the Gay Liberation Front.

Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian and Transgender community is welcome at UU

Unitarian Universalists are a welcoming group:
THEIR VISION: The Office is guided by the vision that someday we will be able to put ourselves out of business and that oppression against bisexual, gay, lesbian, and/or transgender people, whether it be overt or subtle, will be a thing of the past.
PART OF THEIR STORY: Unitarian Universalism has been on record as supporting the rights of bisexual, gay, and lesbian people since 1970. The Office was formed in 1973. We have advocated against sodomy laws and job and housing discrimination. We have advocated for ceremonies of union and same-gender marriage, the right to serve in the military, the right to lead congregations as ministers and religious professionals, and the right to be parents...

Non-fat, No Whip Mocha

Where is the best place to get a mocha? Starbucks seems to make the best mocha I have tasted. Friends tell be Einsteins has better regular coffee, though. Now the question is which Starbucks to frequent. At this point, I seem to have a preference for the Starbucks on Stapley and the 60 next to the AMC. The one next to Trader Joes on Gilbert is okay, too. Where do you go and why?
