Great read about WACs and women's new roles. Serving in silence for women in the WAC was difficult and risky. You risked who you were, your career, and love. I appreciated the storyline between these two women from different worlds who have patriotism in common. A little slow in areas, but a fascinating read about the different airships.

Stella's sister is one I wish I had in my corner and I'm sure we know people like Becky. The coworkers in the hospital seemed almost comically well done.

I understood the historical aspects of racism and the sects that were involved in the OK bombing. Not my cup of tea. Writing was good. Plot left something to be desired.

The author does a great job of creating a plot that keeps the reader going well past her bedtime. Great characters and storyline. The sex scenes were longer then I would have preferred. I like more left to my imagination. I look forward to the next book.

I loved A Family Woman by T.B. Markinson. This was the next book in the series that I have been enjoying. The characters are great and I love Lizzie, although I think she gets picked upon a bit. I cannot wait to see the next in the series. Lizzie's character is one that I empathize with as my daughter does not get a lot of idioms. Sara and Lizzie do quite well together. I am looking forward to seeing how Lizzie handles teaching.

Great book. I had read the previous books in this series and it was good to see how it all began. Character development was awesome. Of course, Cori’s Mother and Aunt are always great for laughs. I love the line where Kat keeps Cori’s clothes to keep her from running. The philosophical debates between characters help to deepen understanding. Kat’s character is strong yets shows her vulnerabilities with her Art and Family.
I highly recommend this book and the others in the series. Get to know Kat and Cori.

GCLS 2018 Conference

The GCLS 2018 Conference is in Las Vegas, July 4-8. The event brings together readers, fans, writers, editors, and publishers to celebrate the best in lesbian literature. I will be there. For those of you unfamiliar with the Golden Crown Literary Society, it's a great way to meet others interested in lesbian literature. Every year, the conference rotates. The con was in Portland, OR in 2014, New Orleans in 2015, Washington DC in 2016, and Chicago in 2017. The speakers and writing seminars are outstanding. GCLS info is at http://www.goldencrown.org/

I am so glad I bought and read this book. I wasn't sure about the topic, but the author did a fantastic job. I appreciated the way she dealt with death and how the main characters each had a way of coping. The relationship between the two main characters while might be seen as taboo or certainly unique, was portrayed in a loving caring manner that had me rooting for them.
I recommend this book highly.

Review: Tail Gait: Rita Mae Brown

I have been a fan of this author for some time. I have also been a little disappointed with recent works due to lecturing by the author in the novel...till now.

Rita Mae Brown came through with a winner. Not only do we get a great mystery, learn more of the characters (Pastor and Susan), but learn of our own nations history. So much did the historical aspects tough me that I immediately, upon finishing the book, went online to search out, Camp Security. I then continued to share this information with my daughter. She endured my enthusiasm.

Thank you to the author to not only providing a good read but well accepted lesson in history.

-Were Corgi's really here in the late 1700's?

This magazine is a grassroots forum, which means it’s truly written by our readers.  On its

pages you’ll find info for lesbians on places to live and where to travel, lesbian B&Bs and guesthouses, websites, cruises, festivals, conferences, lesbian land and retirement communities, products (books, CDs, DVDs, etc.), campgrounds and retreats, lesbian lawyers and realtors,

as well as the comic strip “Dykes to Watch Out For” and much more.  There are also reviews, articles, letters and topics dealing with whatever issues LC’s readers are talking about, from health issues and politics to relationships and pets.
